About me

Hello,

My name is Artem. I was born in a small town in the far east of Russia.

Blagoveshchensk, Russia in the foreground and Heihe, China across the river

I left home early and moved around the world. I lived deep in Ireland at the age of 13, then moved to Scotland for a middle school exchange, then to London for a summer English school, and eventually, at 15, finally settled in New Zealand.

As a kid I was always curious, disassembling toys and hunting for treasure in the playground (spoiler: never found it), and that curiosity still drives me every day.

My journey to software engineering started with making blogs for the games I played all the time (GTA and Call of Duty). I noticed that a lot of blogs had ads on them, and when I realised people made money just by hosting ads on a website, oh boy, I thought I was going to be a millionaire.

I watched hours of YouTube tutorials on how to build blogs using pure HTML and Blogger. After a few days of finding templates and setting up the pages, I was ready to make money.

After spamming every server and chat for weeks, I racked up an impressive total of 5 people, 3 of whom were my friends.

Then I tried making Call of Duty tutorials, but I had no idea how all these guys recorded their screens, so I whipped out my Sony Ericsson, propped it on a yogurt container in front of my laptop, and recorded my first ever YouTube video (I wish I could link it, but it's lost somewhere in the depths of YouTube).

All of that led me to the only logical conclusion: studying Computer Science at the University of Auckland. I quickly realised I didn't actually enjoy the coding part. It always felt like a chore. I kept wishing there was a tool that could translate all my ideas into code, and I would just have to orchestrate it.

Luckily, that dream became reality with the launch of ChatGPT in 2022 and Claude Code in 2025.

Fast forward to today, and I've combined all the things I was curious about as a kid: building, teaching, and making content.

I strongly believe knowledge should be free and accessible to everyone, because that would make the world a better place. That's why I share everything I do and build with people (including you, reading this right now).

My current goal is to share everything I learn (and everything I have yet to learn) and empower as many people as possible to use AI to improve their lives, whether that means building a business, learning a new skill, or just having fun.

What I enjoy most is talking to people and connecting with them, so don't be a stranger. If you ever want to talk about psychology, philosophy, AI, or health and fitness, just reach out by email. I'm still that kid hunting for treasure in the playground, so if you've got an interesting idea, I want to hear it.
