You watched the reel. Here's the full setup.

The whole thing is a Claude Project with 3 files and one set of instructions. Once it's built, you type "draft me a reel about X" and it gives you a hook, script and caption in your voice.

Setup takes about 10 minutes.

Step 1: Create the project

  1. Go to claude.ai
  1. Click Projects in the sidebar
  1. Click + New Project
  1. Name it Content System

You'll land on the empty project view. Two panels matter here: Knowledge (where the 3 files go) and Instructions (the box at the top).

Step 2: Build the 3 files

Make these as .md files on your computer (or just paste them into Claude's knowledge as text, both work). Each one has a job.

File 1 — about-me.md

This teaches Claude who you are. Keep it short. 3 lines is enough.

# About Me

Niche: [what you post about]
Audience: [who you're posting for]
Voice: [3-5 words describing how you talk]

Example (mine):

# About Me

## Niche

Instagram Reels about practical AI workflows, content systems, and automation. I show creators, founders, and operators the real systems behind AI content, not the hype. Think: tools, automations, and workflows you can actually copy and use.

## Audience

Creators, founders, and operators who want to grow personal brands with AI. They want better content, more leverage, less overwhelm, and clear examples they can steal. They're tired of generic AI takes and want someone who sees beyond the surface and connects dots they'd miss.

## Voice

Useful, sharp, practical, slightly raw, non-corporate. Built from real experiments, not theory. I take the audience on a journey, connect non-obvious dots, and skip the AI hype. If it sounds like a LinkedIn motivational post, it's wrong.

That's the whole file. Don't overthink this one.

File 2 — best-reels.md

This is the brain. 20 top reels in your niche, broken down so Claude can pull patterns from them.

Here is the starter pack file that I promised

Do this for 20 reels and your file is done. The notes section is the most important part. That's where you teach Claude why something worked, not just what it said.

Quick tip on transcribing: you don't need to manually type out every reel. Google "free reel transcription tool" and you'll find a bunch. Or I dropped an easy tutorial on how to do locally for free inside my community.

File 3 — my-reels.md

This is the file that makes the system actually sound like you.

Every reel you post goes in here. Same template as best-reels.md. If you've never posted, start fresh with 1-2 entries from reels you've drafted and the file will fill up over time.

The point: best-reels.md teaches Claude what works in your niche. my-reels.md teaches Claude what works for you specifically. The voice, the pacing, the topics that hit with your audience.

Here is how I wrote mine using this template:

## [Number]. [Title of the reel]

**Title:**
[Same as above]

**Genre:**
[tag] [tag] (e.g. [build] [system], [tutorial], [hot-take])

**Hook:**
[The first 1-2 sentences. Word for word.]

**Script:**
[Full transcript of the reel, word for word.]

**URL:**
[Link to the reel]

**Caption:**
[The full caption they used]

**On-screen text hook:**
[The big text overlay on the first frame]

**Performance:**
- Views: [number]
- Likes: [number]
- Comments: [number]
- Saves: [number]
- Shares: [number]
- Follows: [if available, otherwise N/A]

**Notes:**
- [Why this hook worked]
- [Why the CTA worked]
- [What pattern/template this follows]
- [Why this specific reel popped — timing, novelty, controversy, utility, etc.]

Here's a real one from my account so you see the level of detail:

## 1. Claude can now make perfect Instagram Carousels

**Title:**
Claude can now make perfect Instagram Carousels

**Genre:**
[build] [system]

**Hook:**
Here's what almost everyone missed in Claude's latest update. And why I'll never use Canva again.

**Script:**
Here's what almost everyone missed in Claude's latest update. And why I'll never use Canva again. A few days ago, Claude released an update that lets you build interactive visuals directly inside your chat. Most of the people thought it was just for basic diagrams or flowcharts. But I found a cheat code. If you use the right prompt, Claude will actually design a completely highly aesthetic on-brand Instagram carousel right inside the chat. And honestly, they look better than anything I've ever designed in Canva. And here's how it works. Inside my project, I asked Claude to generate an Instagram carousel. It created 7 slides with all the images, text and best practices like progress bar, arrows and visual hierarchy. And the best part is, if you don't like something, just tell Claude to fix it. And that way you literally never have to touch a design tool again. All I do is save them and pause on Instagram. The whole process took me less than a minute, sending me hours of drag and drop on Canva. If you want the exact custom instructions for the Claude project to do the same with your branding, call me the word Claude and I'll DM it to you.

**Caption:**
Comment "Claude" and I'll DM you the project instructions to generate perfect Instagram Carousels ⬇️

Claude can now build interactive visuals directly inside the chat, and if you use the right prompt, it'll design complete branded Instagram carousels for you. no Canva required.

7 slides, progress bars, dark/light layouts, your brand colors, integrated images, animations and anything you can think of — all in under a minute.

**On-screen text hook:**
Claude now makes perfect Instagram Carousels 🤯

**Performance:**
- Saves: 38,078
- Follows: N/A

**Notes:**
- Strongest hook on the account — "what everyone missed" + "why I'll never use Canva again" stacks curiosity with a stake in the ground
- 42k comments because the CTA ("comment Claude") was simple, single-word, and tied to a tangible deliverable (custom instructions)
- Save:view ratio (~5%) signals reference value — this is a how-to people want to come back to
- Template: a tool everyone uses (Claude) + a hidden capability + replacement of a known incumbent (Canva)
- This post did so well because I was one of the first people to show that you can now use Claude to make instagram Carousels and people on instagram love automating their content (makes it easier) + plus everyone knows Claude and no one like building carousels.

Do this for 20 reels and your file is done. The notes section is the most important part. That's where you teach Claude why something worked, not just what it said.

After 5-10 entries this file becomes the most valuable one in the project.

Step 3: Add the custom instructions

Click into the Custom Instructions box at the top of the project and paste this in:

You are my content writing partner. Before drafting anything, read about-me.md, best-reels.md, and my-reels.md in full.

When I ask for a reel:
1. Pull 3–5 hook patterns from best-reels.md that fit the topic.
2. Show me the angles first. Don't write a full script yet.
3. Once I pick an angle, draft hook → script → caption.
4. Voice rules: short sentences. No corporate AI words (leverage, unlock, game-changer, dive in, in today's world). No "in conclusion." Slightly raw. First person.
5. Match the pacing of my top 3 reels in my-reels.md.

If I push back, learn from it. If I say "save this angle," remember it for next time.

That's it.

Step 4: Use it

Open a new chat inside the project and type:

draft me a reel about [any topic]

Claude will give you 3-5 angles first. Pick one. Then it writes the full hook, script and caption.

If something feels off, push back. "Make it more raw." "Cut the second sentence." "This sounds too AI." The system learns from the corrections inside that chat.

When a reel performs, add it to my-reels.md. The system gets sharper every time you do.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Skipping the notes section in best-reels.md. That's where 80% of the value lives. Without it Claude just mimics the surface, not the reason it worked.
  • Making about-me.md too long. 3 lines. If you write 3 paragraphs Claude weighs it too heavily and your drafts get bloated.
  • Not adding to my-reels.md. This is the file that compounds. If you don't update it, the system stays generic.
  • Asking for the script before picking an angle. The angles step exists on purpose. It saves you from getting one mediocre draft instead of choosing from 5 directions.
